Our expertise

LNCR’s areas of expertise are directly related to its missions.  They cover a wide range of fields, including diagnostic expertise in relation to animal health tests for regulated diseases and reproductive diseases (sexually transmitted diseases); regulatory expertise relating to all the regulations that apply to this specific area of activity; assessment and management of health risks related to animals of high genetic quality and their gametes; help and advice regarding the design and quality management of approved facilities (quarantine stations, semen collection centers, semen or embryo storage centers, donor and embryo transfer stations); and standardization work on animal health in the specific domain of laboratory testing.

In every field of animal health diagnosis, LNCR is able to define research protocols and implement them under the most reliable and efficient conditions.  Its domain of expertise also extends to all the health issues within its scope.  Its involvement in this field is unusual in that LNCR undertakes a dual mission of assessment and management of health risks.  As such, it provides its partners with its expertise in the fields of epidemiology, clinical and laboratory diagnosis and pathogenesis.  Where necessary, preventive and/or curative therapeutic actions may be recommended and applied with a high probability of success.
On the regulatory side, LNCR’s thorough knowledge of the regulations relating to artificial insemination and embryo transfers, together with the international standing of its management, gives it the role of consultant as well as of adviser for the drafting of both French and international statutory documents (OIE Code and Manual, IETS Manual, European Union Directives, Ministerial Orders).  LNCR’s standing and skills are also regularly called upon by the French Ministry of Agriculture (DGAL, Third Countries Exports Office, FranceAgriMer) within the context of negotiations for the drawing up of bilateral health certificates with third countries.
In the quality management field, LNCR’s expertise focuses on animal health diagnostic activities related to a collaboration of over twenty years with COFRAC, the French Accreditation Committee, as part of the technical accreditation commission in animal biology, whose work especially concerns the fields of animal bacteriology, virology and sero-immunology.
Such quality management skills can easily be transposed to the genetics sector, and even to the veterinary services that undertake regulatory monitoring missions.  For instance, LNCR undertakes training missions on request that enable the various organisations concerned to meet the standards of the regulatory requirements needed in the relevant areas of a quality management system, namely documentation and application to a specific company or organisation.
